Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and flexible Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of working remotely and aligning their work schedule with the Herndon, VA. This entry-level position requires direction and guidance for some tasks, providing an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Analysis and Design: Analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, and evaluating operating systems and protocol suites. Configure communication media to optimize network performance.
• Interoperability Resolution: Resolve interoperability problems to ensure smooth operations across all platforms, maximizing network efficiency and effectiveness.
• Network Solutions Development: Develop innovative network solutions to maximize and reroute traffic as needed. Perform root cause analysis using appropriate commands, specifications, and scripts.
• System Configuration: Configure systems to match user environments, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
• Cross-Functional Team Leadership: May lead cross-functional teams or provide tier III support, collaborating effectively to achieve common goals.
• Acquisition Support: Support the acquisition of standard hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed to maintain and enhance network operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in network engineering, including hands-on experience with network analysis, design, and configuration.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in planning, designing, and evaluating network systems. Strong knowledge of operating systems, protocol suites, and communication media.
• Team Collaboration: Experience in leading cross-functional teams and providing tier III support.
