Job Title: Senior Biostatistician/Data ScientistLocation: Rockville, MD
Weekly Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician/Data Scientist to join our team. This role involves performing data management, data analysis, and statistical modeling for various research projects, particularly in health disparities. The successful candidate will collaborate with investigators and fellows to analyze both primary data collection studies and secondary/publicly available datasets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform experimental investigations and research projects utilizing extensive applications of mathematical and statistical methodologies.
  • Conduct statistical analysis using novel methods and algorithms.
  • Assist researchers with planning, implementing, and analyzing research projects.
  • Provide statistical advice and consultation in study design, data management, choice and application of statistical methods, data analysis, and interpretation of statistical results.
  • Carry out advanced epidemiologic and statistical analyses suitable for studies of health disparities and minority health.
  • Conduct data cleaning and formatting, data harmonization, and data analysis.
  • Prepare results for publication from intervention studies, observational studies, and secondary data analysis projects.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for the collection, processing, compilation, cleaning, and analysis of data.
  • Utilize statistical software packages to manage, maintain, and analyze large, complex statistical databases.
  • Provide support with data sharing, including public repositories.
  • Train trainees on developing statistical analytic codes and interpreting results from different statistical analyses.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a closely related field.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals are preferable.
  • Experience in health disparities research is preferred.
  • Proficiency in scientific data analysis, statistical modeling, algorithm development, data visualization, and machine learning.
  • Expertise in using advanced statistical methods, linear and non-linear regression, and performing statistical analyses using multiple software packages.
  • Experience conducting statistical analyses in complex survey data or other secondary data sources.
  • Familiarity with Bayesian statistics and simulation modeling.
  • Experience working with students or trainees in teaching data analytic skills.
