Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a "CT Technologist" position that will provide support to our client's healthcare systems in Hackensack, NJ. This is a contract assignment with a high likelihood of extension and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

• Performs complex CT procedures.
• Uses professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient's clinical history for procedures, ensuring information is documented and scanned into PACS.
• Prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patient and/or family member and scans into EPIC.
• Identifies and/or administers contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Reviews the patient prescription to verify appropriateness of exam; communicates with Radiologist and Referring Physician if incorrect to obtain additional clinical information or a new prescription.
• Calls physicians to clarify the prescription per appropriate CT protocols.
• Verifies insurance authorized exam script and sends exam modification forms to Finance for insurance re-verification.
• Obtains outside studies (CD), schedules them in EPIC for availability in PACS for comparison by Radiologists.
• Provides exam copies to patients and requesting physician and/or family member.
• Evaluates radiographs using PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
• Gathers relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
• Determines patient preparation adequacy.
• Prepares patients for scanning (shielding, immobilization devices).
• Determines appropriate contrast type and dose.
• Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing and documenting concerns.
• Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance according to guidelines.
• Monitors patient physical condition for adverse reactions during procedures.
• Works scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Provides overtime and on-call availability per Radiology Department policy.
• Adheres to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies.
• Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes/pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands at least 6 hours daily.
• Identifies and modifies patient care specific to population needs (age, culture, language, impairments).
• Adheres to Medical Center Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.

Qualifications:

• ARRT Certified.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
• High School Diploma.
