Pride Health is hiring Medical Laboratory Scientist II - to support our client’s medical facility based in Baltimore MD 21229
. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Required - Generalist Med tech- coag, hem, ua, CHEMISTRY ETC. and ASCP or AMT certification is required
THE NIGHT SHIFT PERSON WILL NEED TO DO GRAM STAINS [LIMITED MICRO- SOME EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED BUT WE CAN TRAIN.]
Location: Baltimore MD 21229
Job Type: 3 months - W2 contract - with possible extension
Schedule: Shifts for both openings:
Night shift - 11:15 - 7:15 AM Sun-Thursday rotating weekends and holidays.
Day shift- 11 AM- 3:30 PM rotating weekends and holidays sun-thurs
Pay Range: MLS=$30-36, MLT=$26-$32 depending on years of experience
(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
Responsibilities:
· Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
· Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
· Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
· Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
· Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
· Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
· Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
· Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
· Minimum 1 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
