Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Location: New York, NY 10011
Duration: 2 Months with high possibility of extension
Shift: 8:30am - 6:30pm, Monday - Thursday
Pay Range: $35 to $42/Hour.
Description:
Performs preliminary screening examinations for physician review including visual field tests, ocular motility tests, color vision tests, pupil tests, tonometry, tonography, tensilon tonography tests, and pupil testing for size, equality, and reaction prior to dilation.
Directs patient flow for Eye Center physicians; gathers medical/personal data for charts; screens patients; arranges tests, photography, studies, admissions, and surgery as requested; alleviates patient and family concerns by explaining procedures and treatment.
Calibrates and maintains instruments including bio-microscopes, lensometers, keratometer, tangent screen, slit lamp, and tonometers; cleans and stocks consultation rooms and microbiology lab with necessary supplies.
Sterilizes and sets up instruments for ophthalmic surgeries; assists with minor office surgery, laser treatments, and operating room surgery.
