Job Description
Pride Health is hiring Float Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility based in Milwaukee, WI
. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Note - Float position. Home base is determined from where they live. Areas: Milwaukee, West Allis, West Bend, Cudahy, New Berlin, De Pere
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Type: 3 months - W2 contract - with possible extension
Schedule: Must be available from 8:00 AM-6 PM, float position. Monday-Friday. (unlikely that every day will start at 8:00)
Pay Range: $18-$21.50 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
Responsibilities:
Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport.
Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum 2yrs of phlebotomy experience is required .
