Pride Transport is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near West Valley, UT

Closes: When position is filled.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Pay: $47,840 to $54,080 Depending on Experience Eligible for Monthly Discretionary Departmental Incentives.

General Summary: The Human Resource Generalist works closely with the members of the department to carry out the company and department objectives. This position is responsible for working directly with other employees to ensure the benefits, policies, and procedures are administered appropriately. This person must represent Pride Transport’s culture, i.e., The PRIDE Way.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Administer and maintain ISO 14001 compliance certification.
  • Lead in companywide & leadership training of ISO 14001 program.
  • Report, review, and submit Ecovadis reporting.
  • Administer the leave-of-absence and worker’s compensation programs including managing all FMLA, Medical LoA, and Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Serve as backup to process and assist with driver new hire setups as needed
  • Assist with reception coverage, as needed
  • Serve as the initial department contact with driver new hires
  • Review driver backgrounds
  • Cross-trained in driver new hire set up
  • Collect I-9 Forms; perform E-Verify; Section I & II
  • Other clerical duties involved with new driver hires
  • Assist with other company-wide training initiatives
  • Assist with employment investigations as needed.
  • Cross-train/back-up driver and office terminations
  • Process and update all employee address/name changes
  • Back up Department of Workforce Services requests
  • Serve as backup benefits enrollments and initiatives.
  • Process and update all employee address/name changes
  • Perform a wide range of special projects as needed.
  • Other clerical duties may be assigned to support the HR Department as needed
  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the job
  • Must perform all duties with “safety-first” in mind

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Dependable
  • Experience in HR (1 year minimum preferred)
  • Conduct themselves in an ethical manner.
  • Experience with ISO certification preferred.
  • Must maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Must be able to refocus with frequent interruptions and meet established deadlines
  • Must communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to handle competing responsibilities

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not necessary
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred or willing to obtain within 180 days of employment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
