Pridelines is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Miami, FL. Our mission is to support, educate, and empower South Florida's LGBTQ youth and the community at large through affirming programs and services.

With a history dating back to 1982, Pridelines provides a safe and diverse environment for LGBTQ youth and their allies, offering social support, skills building, leadership development, and referrals to mental health, healthcare, and support services.

Role Description

These are two part-time to full-time on-site roles for Health Navigator (HIV / STI Tester) and Prep Specialist. The primary responsibilities of this role include conducting HIV testing, providing education about HIV prevention and PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), connecting individuals to necessary resources and support services, maintaining accurate records, and engaging in outreach efforts to promote HIV prevention in the community.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Working primarily from the Miami Beach location, the part-time or full-time staff member will :
• Provide HIV and STD counseling and testing to eligible clients, especially gay males;
• Provide education about PrEP, and help navigate interested clients into patient assistance or co-pay programs;
• Provide continued support to those taking PrEP, and to those taking medications for HIV;
• Provide assistance enrolling clients in other needed support services;
• Provide on-line and venue-based outreach, some evenings and weekends each month;
• Input and report accurate data in a timely manner;
• Participate in other agency programs and events serving the community.

Other General Responsibilities (as required)

• Supports with Center open and closing procedures (this does include cleaning, including restrooms and kitchen when necessary).
• Supports with Center staffing.
• Supports front desk operations.
• Attends meetings and events as a representative of the organization.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HIV prevention strategies and PrEP
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Experience working with LGBTQ individuals and familiarity with LGBTQ health issues
• Proficient in record-keeping and documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
• Knowledge of local resources and services for HIV prevention and support
• Certification in HIV testing and counseling is a plus
• Bilingual in English, Haitian Creole, and Spanish is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., public health, social work, psychology) is preferred

Starting salary $17.00 to $18.50 per hour, depending upon experience and education. Pridelines employees receive benefits : health insurance, a retirement plan, and a generous leave package.

Candidates must complete the Florida 500 / 501 HIV testing certification. Must have transportation, and be willing to work a flexible schedule.
