Job Title: Marketing Product Portfolio Manager

Location: King of Prussia, PA

Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 annual

Job Type: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, hybrid schedule

What You’ll Be Doing:

Our client is a leading distributor of lubricants, oils, fluids, and greases and is currently recruiting for a Marketing Product Portfolio Manager due to growth. Their history is marked by consistent growth and expansion, which has significantly widened their scope of experience and capabilities as a lubricant distributor. Their mission is to provide lubrication solutions that create value for their customers. The Marketing Product Portfolio Manager is a hands on position and will be responsible for establishing the department and its processes. This includes both strategic and execution of activities and processes.

  • Lead and oversee the management of the entire product portfolio from ideation to end-of-life, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and analysis to identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for introducing new products to the market and seamlessly phasing out obsolete products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions during phase-in and phase-out processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions about product development, enhancements, and discontinuations.
  • Work closely with product development, sourcing, marketing, sales, supply planning, finance and other relevant departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to the product portfolio, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of the product portfolio.
  • Implement corrective actions and improvements based on performance metrics.
  • Maintain product standard convention (name, UoM, Type of Product), Data Validation, Data sheets, safety data sheets and other technical marketing documents for the product lines.
  • Oversee the packaging of product lines - including brand strategy, brand convention, brand integrity, label design, technical requirements, and approval process in connection with multiple departments.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Years of experience and education: 5 years of product portfolio management experience in a B2B environment. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Communication skills: Highly developed ability to interact with multiple audiences, facilitating group discussions and connections. Build/write reports, business correspondence and create presentations. Effectively presents data, analysis & information to peers across the organization.
  • Numerical skills: Well versed with fundamental business math, interpreting P&Ls, margins, operational and sales metrics. Fully understands basis and appropriate interpretation particularly of sales and marketing metrics.
  • Reasoning ability: Highly developed ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Highly developed ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Highly developed ability to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills: Highly developed ability to lead teams, set goals and managed across a matrix organization
  • Interpersonal/people skills: Highly developed ability to successfully interact with a wide and varied range (intellectual and behavioral) of people while fostering a cooperative working environment.
  • Computer literacy: Must have a highly developed strong background in MS Office Suite - - Word, PowerPoint, Excel. SQL, MS Power BI, Salesforce CRM.
  • Travel requirement: Some local and national travel will be required (25% or less).
