Primary Talent Partners has a contract opening for a Technical Writer/Business Analyst to join our financial client in San Francisco. This is a contract role through the end of 2024 with the potential for extension. Pay Rate = $60.00 - $70.00/hr. W2, no PTO or benefits included. Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card HoldersJob DescriptionResponsible for the creation and maintenance of IT documentation including but not limited to:
User guides including developer guides and getting started guides on various services like Amazon Athena, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon EMR, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation
User guides on how customers can self provision infrastructure as code using self service guides
Technical design guides on data mesh architecture
Short articles for knowledge base
Release notes for cloud platform releases
Product documentation with realistic use case scenarios
FAQs, standards including naming standards, technology standards, data management / governance standards, architecture / development standards , and guidelines like security guidelines, etc.
Creating process flow diagrams and documenting various processes like product support process, operational support process, Solution fit analysis process, Technology Team Onboarding process
Training guides
Managing content and membership of confluence sites
Translates technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
Works with Development, Quality Assurance and Technical Support to produce a wide variety of technical publications including instructional materials, technical manuals, product documentation and the like for use by both the IT and business community.
Interviews subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization.
Researches information such as drawings, design reports, equipment and test specifications to fill any gaps.
Reviews, critiques, and edits documentation including design documents, programmer notes and system overviews.
Responsibilities include maintenance of internal documentation library, providing and/or coordinating special documentation services as required, and oversight of special projects.
Must have strong organizational and project management skills and excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to work in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Visio.
Business Analysis Support the Bank’s efforts in the following general areas:
Consult on establishing a common security and access reporting strategy
Consult on metadata strategies
Consult on governance reporting
Consult on and provide analysis to establish standards and guidelines
Consult and analyze ingestion capabilities to load and process data
Qualifications:5 years experience required. Must Be An Experienced Technical Writer With Following Requirements
Strong technical background in software and hardware products
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
Must have experience documenting processes and guides on AWS Cloud data platform
Must have experience managing content on Confluence
Must have experience writing technical documentation for AWS data analytics platform including services like Amazon Athena, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon EMR, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation, Best Practices, etc.
Nice to have experience on writing technical documentation for 3rd party vendor products like Collibra, Starburst, Databricks, Immuta
Preferred experience writing technical documentation on self service capabilities and automation
Preferred experience writing technical documentation on data mesh architecture and enablement
Positions require some supervision; work is varied and may have some difficulty but position has limited responsibility and authority; work requires broad technical and business context. Performs professional level work.
Develops solutions to review with management; may be responsible for more complex work within a broader technical and/or business context. Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience. "
