Primavera is seeking a dynamic individual to join our innovative team as an English Language Development Teacher. Position Summary: The online English Language Development teacher will facilitate student learning through the online classroom (synchronously and asynchronously) to ensure students successfully master learning objectives.Teachers will personalize the education of their students by communicating with them on a consistent basis as outlined in the current Academic Expectations. Primary duties and responsibilities:
Follow all teacher expectations outlined in the current Academic Expectations
Maintain content knowledge and academic pedagogy within academic discipline(s) currently taught
Provide timely and consistent communication to students and parents through all available communication tools including the tools in the Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), and tools provided by the school such as Google Apps for Education and the phone
Identifies students for the AZELLA assessment using the Student Enrollment Form and HLS (Home Language Survey) form.
Assesses HLS students for English proficiency according to Arizona Department of Education regulations and for possible program placement.
Participates in all AZELLA training, both placement and reassessment, as required by District Test Coordinator. § Works with compliance instructional assistants to coordinate and administer AZELLA placement and reassessment for all EL students.
Provides parental notification to parents of EL students regarding program placement.
Monitors student placement and progress. The employee must utilize test data to determine learning priorities, identify students' strengths and weaknesses and share information on individual students with teachers.
Evaluate student work by providing substantive written feedback on pertinent assignments
Provide timely and consistent grading of all student assignments
Grade all student assignments within 48 hours of submission
Participate in professional development and school meetings
Assist with administering standardized assessments
Establish rapport with students and their families while expressing the importance of consistent attendance to meet learning objectives
Properly document issues, concerns, and important information concerning students and their families in the Student Information System (SIS)

Job Specific Skills/Abilities:
Ability to collaborate effectively with school stakeholders regarding the implementation of 504 plans
Ability to facilitate 504 meetings via teleconference and face-to-face modalities
Ability to develop and implement plans to support student academic success through collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
Education/Training:
Teaching Certificate (English and full SEI endorsement REQUIRED )
Bachelor's degree in English, English as a Second Language, or related field
Minimum of at least two years of verified full-time experience as a high school instructor
Valid AZ fingerprint ClearanceCard
Environmental Conditions :Usual office setting Starting salary for teachers is $55,000 annually, excluding Prop 301 funding.
