Overview:

We are a newer family medicine practice located in Cypress, TX. We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide support to our healthcare professionals and be an independent worker and thinker.

This Job is part time with potential to grow. Current schedule would be:

Monday 8am-5pm

Tuesday 8am-5pm

Saturday 9am-12pm

Every 3rd Tuesday evening of the month 4-7:30pm

Responsibilities:

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
2. Effectively participates in planning and preparing for patient visits ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic specific requirements are available.
3. Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic. Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
4. As required and competency validated, performs appropriate Swab testing, EKG, point of care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing and other requested procedures.
5. Prepares and stocks rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visit as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.
6. Prepares for and assists with routine well women exams.
7. Schedules patients for follow up appointments or referrals and performs routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
8. Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up.
9. Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

11. Conduct insurance verifications for each patient

12.Answer incoming phone lines and emails.

13. Complete referrals and refills in a timely manner set by the employer.

Qualifications:

- Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Proficiency in test administration and patient care techniques
- Strong understanding of physiology and family medicine practices
- Experience working in urgent care, hospital medicine, or family medicine is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Phlebotomy certification and experience is required. If not willing to become trained is required.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
