Job Summary : We are looking for an experienced GSA Contract Specialist to join our team, bringing expertise in federal contracting, particularly with the General Services Administration (GSA) schedules.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of generating business with key government agencies, such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Defense (DOD), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This role involves managing the full lifecycle of GSA contracts, developing business connections, and attending industry events to ensure continued success in securing government contracts.
Pay will be base plus commissions. Key Responsibilities : Contract Management : Manage all phases of the GSA contract process, including solicitation, bid preparation, award, administration, and closeout.
Business Development : Leverage existing contacts and actively network to develop new business relationships with government agencies, particularly DOJ, DOD, and DHS.
Industry Engagement : Attend GSA industry presentations and other relevant government contracting events to stay current on trends and opportunities.
Bid Preparation : Lead the preparation and submission of bids for GSA schedule contracts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Networking : Expand the company’s network within federal agencies and develop critical new relationships to increase contracting opportunities.
Compliance & Reporting : Ensure strict compliance with FAR, DFARS, and GSA schedule guidelines; maintain detailed documentation and provide regular reports.
Market Research : Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and trends within the federal contracting arena.
Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal contracting, with a focus on GSA schedules and generating business with agencies such as DOJ, DOD, and DHS.
Bid Expertise : Experience preparing bids and handling the detailed paperwork required to secure or close out a contract.
Technical Skills : Proficient with contract management software, GSA eBuy, and other procurement tools. Travel : Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, attending client meetings and industry events.
