Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Summary: The Botanist, an Acreage Holding Company, is a state-licensed marijuana facility that services medical marijuana patients in the State of New York. Acreage Holdings is committed to improving the quality of healthcare for patients using natural, plant-based medicine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Retail Operations

• Must be in-store during scheduled shift to allow for proper dispensation policies and procedures of cannabis products.
• Drive retail sales and patient retention.
• Consistently models professionalism; serves as a role model to dispensary staff during periods of high stress and ambiguity.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal and state laws.
• Assisting with dispensary tasks as requested. These include but are not limited to accepting product deliveries, returns, inventory controls, employee training, fulfilling online orders, and cash handling.
• Work with Dispensary Manager to diffuse difficult situations and ensures issues are resolved to the member’s satisfaction while upholding company standards.
• Must be proficient in their understanding and knowledge of the cannabis industry and its laws.

• Operate POS and corresponding systems.
• Compare safe inventory to retail inventory in daily audits.
• Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of each day.
• Maintain appropriate retail floor stock levels and display quality.
• Work with the Dispensary Manager to communicate all issues that come up at the store.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment for patients and employees.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assisting with dispensary tasks as requested. These include but are not limited to accepting product deliveries, returns, inventory controls, employee training, fulfilling online orders, and cash handling.
• May help in other departments as needed/Other duties as assigned.

Patient Care

• Develop high customer experience standards and engagement through sales training and product knowledge.
• Promote a positive experience for all patients. 
• Develop a deep understanding of cannabis forms, dosing, drug interactions, and side effects.
• Performs consultations with patients to recommend best course of treatment and assist them in becoming more knowledgeable of the medical cannabis program and products.
• Assist patients with their questions, problems, and complaints.

Administrative Duties:

• Oversees, trains and manages associate(s). Responsible for the hiring, performance reviews and disciplinary action.
• Complies with Company SOP’s and New York State guidance
• Maintain personal training status and records consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Create and submit purchase requisitions to the Purchasing Department
• Create and send daily and weekly progress summary report emails to Director of Retail
• Maintain good working relationships with vendors to ensure smooth and effective communication.
