Primm Valley Resorts is Hiring a Director of Surveillance Near Primm, NV

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of surveillance activities in accordance with corporate policy and Nevada State Regulations; responsible for supporting the achievement of revenue and income objectives, market share and customer service objectives; establishes departmental policies and procedures; develops and monitors departmental budget(s) to ensure effective operation of the security/surveillance departments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, retain, motivate, evaluate and manage surveillance staff, ensuring employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
  • Review activities throughout the facility in order to gauge and improve staffing levels, working conditions and other matters which influence quality guest service and profitability.
  • Establish department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
  • Monitor and evaluate all reporting departments in order to ensure the proper planning for short and long-term strategies.
  • Review strengths and weaknesses of facility policies and procedures in order to most effectively implement changes to improve operations and most efficiently allocate resources.
  • Ensure a safe and secure atmosphere/environment for customers and employees.
  • Research, evaluate, and test surveillance technology in order to develop most appropriate system to achieve security and maintain cost‑efficiency.
  • Coordinate surveillance investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to assure proper handling of civil violations of patrons or employees; may occasionally appear in court with corporate attorneys to assist in criminal justice proceedings.
  • Establish, implement and monitor emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of such emergencies as fire, flood, or bomb threats.
  • Work with operating departments to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations to facilitate fact‑finding and probe into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on Resorts World Las Vegas.
  • Rewind and change video tapes for each video recorder (number varies).
  • Place removed tapes into storage racks.
  • Set out video tapes for oncoming shift.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Counsel employees and implement necessary corrective measure; Interview, hire, train and supervise staff members
  • Perform all tasks that may be assigned by the General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

  • 2 years’ surveillance experience, 2 years’ experience in a leadership role; (Recommended)
  • Table Games dealing knowledge of all table games offered on the casino floor
  • Cage cash handling procedure knowledge

Skills:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees as well as outside contacts.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Observe and direct actions of employees and customers.
  • Move around facility and respond to situations in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Identify and understand cheating techniques in gaming and hard/soft count

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School degree or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Nevada Gaming Control Board registration.

Valid Driver License

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and speak in English;
skilled in English grammar and spelling; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
