We are actively seeking two experienced and dedicated Quality Technicians to join and grow in the PPG organization. The Quality Technician will support production by ensuring the appropriate processes have been completed prior to shipment of product. Quality Technicians are responsible for part count, part washing, visual inspection, and dimensional data verification. First and Second shift available.

Requirements

  • Count, wash, and visually inspect all parts prior to shipment
  • Confirm all dimensional data has been recorded and is within the specified tolerances
  • Transport and stage parts at the shipping area post inspection
  • Report all non-conformances to quality and production prior to the end of shift
  • Maintain part shipments according to shipping and receiving and QMS standards
  • Use mircrometers and gauges to verify parts are within tolerance
  • Support quality staff as directed
  • Support production and shipping as directed

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity and experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to accurately and with attention to detail visually inspect parts
  • Ability and willingness to use hand-held measuring tools
  • Willingness to work overtime / weekends as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities with little notice is a must
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and take direction from multiple sources
  • Strong attention to detail required
