What You'll DoAs the Director, Compliance Group Insurance Benefits will direct, develop, lead a team and assist CCO in oversight of compliance standards for Business Unit employees to ensure operations meet legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain corporate commitment to ethics and provide excellent service to clients. May partner with leadership to lead initiatives to maintain and enhance programs (e.g. Ethics and Compliance program).
- Provide key assistance to CCO in oversight of compliance program to maintain compliance with federal and/or state insurance department requirements, including development of programs to ensure business unit operations comply with applicable laws. May lead, strategize, and provide oversight, management, and subject matter expertise for. Lead and oversee initiatives to develop and implement employee communication and training promoting the Code, our core values, and an ethical workplace culture.
- Identify, recommend, and implement necessary changes to address weaknesses in the compliance program. Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures as needed
- Regularly conduct benchmarking reviews to identify industry trends and innovative ways for enhancing our Compliance programs.
- Direct, develop and motivate staff through selection, training, coaching, performance review, and salary administration.
- Provide technical advice and/or serve as SME across the Workplace Benefits Business Unit as required.
- Perform other job duties and special projects as required.
Who You Are- Bachelors degree with 8 years of experience required; preferrably experience within group insurance benefits
- JD or MBA considered in lieu of some experience
- Formal leadership experience required
- Strong Group Insurance Benefits background preferred
- Must be able to understand often technically complex federal and/or state laws governing broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, and life insurance companies, in addition to specific business unit and company product knowledge
- Experience with drafting compliance documentation including policies, standards, and procedures preferred
- Must have advanced risk assessment, analytical, interpersonal, research, decision making/organizational skills, and the ability to leverage data.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical/problem solving, presentation, written and oral communication skills
- Must have basic PC skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)$137000 - $185000 / year
Time Off ProgramFlexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
