What You'll Do

Investor Relations has an exciting opportunity and is looking to hire a Financial Analyst. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter and team player, that can demonstrate both analytical and communication skills. This position has high visibility to senior management as well as external investors and analysts – a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career at Principal!

Key aspects of the role include:

• Preparing reports and presentations that communicate financial results, business strategies, and investment theses to internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and analyze financial and industry trends to keep Principal leadership and investors informed about relevant developments
• Apply your technical skills to do financial research and analysis and be involved in understanding the reason while implementing a consistent framework for evaluation and decision-making
• Display excellent communication skills by translating complex material into a simpler, more understandable format

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or related field preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational skills and ability to translate data into visualization/presentations.
• Ability to adopt and understand the change process, and effectively guide others through change.
• Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn is preferred.
• Travel is not required but there could be opportunities to travel, if desired.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$86450 - $144400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements in our Des Moines, IA office. You’ll work with your leader to determine what option may align best based on several factors.
