Schedule/Wage/Benefits
- Work ten (10) or twelve (12) hours shifts or a combination with rotating weekends and holidays
- Hourly Range: $34 – 50 hourly Fully Benefit Package
- Comprehensive Benefit Package including Medical/ Dental/ Vision/ Life/ 401k % Match/ Wellness etc.
- Benefits effective 1st of the month after hire date
Essential Functions
- Being ready to respond and equipped to deal with a medical emergency
- Quickly assessing patient needs
- Treating critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma
- Performing minor medical operations
- Cleaning wounds
- Drawing blood
- Maintaining emergency room care standards
- Assisting with insurance paperwork
- Ensuring the efficiency of the patient check-in process
- Displaying strong decision-making skills in emergency scenarios
- Update patient files and medical records
- Performs ongoing assessment of patient condition and response to treatment
- Provides leadership in establishing goals, evaluating the plan of care, and in discharge planning
- Assesses the patient's learning needs, learning preference, and readiness to learn
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia
- Must have active BLS, ACLS from AHA
- Have at least three (3) years recent prior experience in an emergency department or major trauma center with no more than a six-month work gap
- Preferred to have the Certification of Emergency Nursing (CEN) thru BCEN. (CCRN) certifications thru AACN with ED experience will also be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer date department dependent required
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and customer service communication skills
- Personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation, energy, team orientation, professionalism, trust, personal honesty and integrity, and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required. Periodic times working at the office site may be required.
Security and privacy training will be provided as part of this role to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PCS’ associate and customer data.
