Schedule/Wage/Benefits
  • Work ten (10) twelve (12) hours shifts or a combination with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Hourly Range: $34 – 42 hourly Fully Benefit Package
  • Comprehensive Benefit Package including Medical/ Dental/ Vision/ Life/ 401k % Match/ Wellness etc.
  • Benefits effective 1st of the month after hire date
POSITION PURPOSEAs an ICU Nurse, you will care for critically ill patients who require intensive care. Your role involves treating patients recovering from major surgeries, strokes, heart attacks, and other serious ailments. You’ll administer medication, monitor vital signs, communicate with other providers and the patient’s family, and prepare necessary documentation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in staying organized, following physicians’ care plans, and using complex medical equipment. Nursing care shall be performed in accordance with the American Nursing Association’s Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Performance, and within the individual nurse’s scope of license.
Essential Functions
  • Executing medical regimens including administering medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed or otherwise legally authorized provider
  • Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others
  • Registered nurse is a proficient nurse who demonstrates proficiency in decision-making and using the nursing process for complex situations that effect performance outcomes at the point of care
  • Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, also evaluating direct and indirect nursing care outcomes
  • Possesses the knowledge and skills to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting
  • Responsible for operating life support equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps. They must ensure proper function and troubleshoot any issues
  • Provides care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses
  • Communicates with patients and their families about the condition, treatment plan, and prognosis. They also will need to offer emotional support and address concerns
  • Provides leadership in establishing goals, evaluating the plan of care, and in discharge planning
  • Assesses the patient's learning needs, learning preference, and readiness to learn
Knowledge & Experience
  • Have completed an accredited course in Intensive Care Nursing as well certification in Moderate Sedation or equivalent. In lieu of ICU certification, candidates shall possess at least five years clinical experience in an Intensive Care Unit or other critical care environment
  • Three (3) years prior experience in an intensive care setting to include Critical Care experience
  • Must have BLS, ACLS from AHA, Moderate Sedation Certification or equivalent
  • Preferred to have Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) certifications from AACN
  • Proficient in office automation equipment and software
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and customer service communication skills
  • Personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation, energy, team orientation, professionalism, trust, personal honesty and integrity, and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value
MACHINES & EQUIPMENTThe incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as a copier.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required. Periodic times working at the office site may be required.
Security and privacy training will be provided as part of this role to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PCS’ associate and customer data.
