Database Security Engineer

Data is the new gold, and we're building a fortress to protect it.

We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Database Security Engineer to join our team. As a critical member of our security infrastructure, you will safeguard our organization's most valuable asset: data.

What you'll do:

• Architect and implement: Design, implement, and maintain database security controls and policies.
• Threat hunter: Identify, assess, and mitigate database vulnerabilities and risks.
• Data guardian: Protect sensitive data through encryption, access controls, and data masking.
• Incident responder: Develop and execute incident response plans for database-related security incidents.
• Stay ahead: Keep up-to-date with the latest database security threats and trends.

What you'll need:

• A bachelor s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related field or equivalent experience/certification.

• 5 years of information technology experience, with 3 years of experience in information security

• 2 years experience discovering, cataloging, and protecting sensitive data, including monitoring and preventing data exfiltration.

• 1 years hands-on experience working with several of these technologies: Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Data Discovery, Cloud Security Access Broker (CASB), Data Rights Management (DRM), SSL certificate and Encryption Keys.

• In-depth knowledge of database security best practices and standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).

• Strong understanding of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) and their security features.

• Experience with security tools and technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, etc.).

• Ability to analyze complex data sets to identify security threats.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• A passion for protecting data and maintaining data integrity.
