Private Dental Office is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Santa Cruz, CA

Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team for a Dental specialty office. As a Dental Assistant, you will provide support to the dentist and help ensure efficient and high-quality dental care for our patients. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.

Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical documentation systems (Epic, Eaglesoft)
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols, including sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment rooms
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality

Skills:
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and adherence to patient privacy guidelines
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Ability to take dental x-rays and develop them using appropriate techniques
