CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Reports to:  Director of Projects

Travel Requirement:  Yes 50%

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Construction Manager is a new pivotal role to assist with overseeing and managing regional onsite construction projects within Select Water Infrastructure group. This individual ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. They are responsible for coordinating and supervising all construction activities, from initial planning to commissioning for projects ranging in sizes from ($500,000 - $15,000,000 ). Projects will support the growth of various business units thru the construction of pipelines: freshwater, treated produced and produced gathering pipelines. And facilities such as water treatment, pump stations, saltwater disposal facilities.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • SAFETY:Responsible, professional, and accountable for conducting job tasks in a safe and healthy manner which includes performing in accordance with Health Safety Security & Environmental (HSSE) philosophy, standards, programs, rules and permits.
    • Work responsibly and take any necessary precautions to protect self and others from injury and health hazards.
  • Coordination with project managers, coordinators, engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of construction activities
  • In conjunction with project managers, develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage human and material resources effectively to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction activities while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all construction-related matters, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Resolve conflicts and address concerns raised by project team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  • Monitor project progress and performance indicators, taking proactive measures to address any deviations from the plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for project management and clients, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements as needed.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP) may be preferred
  • OR, extensive experience (typically 10 years) in construction management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing construction activities in the oil and gas sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
