Private Sector is Hiring an Organizing Director Near Madison, WI

Our political GOTV agency is launching a Fall 2024 program to drive voter turnout for progressive causes and seeking a Organizing Director for Wisonsin. This role will be responsible for quickly recuriting, training and deploying hundreds of paid canvassers acorss the state to scale relational organzing tactics.

Responsibilities:

Staff Management

  • Hire and manage a team of organizing staff to support projects as needed
  • Recruit & manage dozens of canvassers for in-field organizing
  • Develop and lead training sessions for staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Organizing Program Management

  • Own the research and launching of organizing sites- idea vetting, scoping pilot plans and project planning
  • Closely track key program deadlines, experiment materials and deliverables of projects in the field
  • Manage the distribution of local logistical outlays to include tables, banners, devices, refreshments, etc.
  • Create weekly reports detailing progress and hurdles of projects in the field
  • Work with the National Program Management team to scale the program in other regions if needed

Requirements

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • At least two cycles of organizing experience organizing at a progressive organization or campaign, ideally having served at a Regional Organizing Director level or higher
  • Expansive experience organizing across different communities and geographies in an electoral and issue advocacy context
  • Experience managing volunteer relationships and cultivating volunteer leaders
  • Experience managing organizers to successfully coach volunteers to take action
  • Eagerness and excitement to empower, coordinate, collaborate, and troubleshoot with direct reports and lateral staff and manage upwards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong working relationships quickly
  • Tech-savvy and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Is flexible. They are able to adapt to unexpected changes and last-minute adjustments
  • Strong proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, our core tech tools:
  • Airtable, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace.
