We grew our business and reputation by developing strong relationships with carriers first and then matching them with the right freight and shippers. This innovative approach helps ensure that everyone has the necessary capicity.
We are excited to be adding our newest Business Development Manager to our logisitics team! We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, leadership and management experience, and teamwork and interpersonal skills.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships among business partners while also developing strategies and solutions to acquire customers through partners and channels. An ideal Business Development Manager excels at selling, negotiating, and influencing others while remaining calm under pressure.
Responsibilities/Duties:
· Help develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
· Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
· Monitor sales progress to ensure that corporate goals are being met
· Arrange and conduct meetings with potential and existing clients
· Promote the company's services addressing or predicting clients' objectives
· Prepare contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
· Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
· Build long-term relationships with new and existing partners
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, supply chain management, logistics or relevant fields. MBA is preferred.
· 3 years of business development, sales or supply chain/logistics working experience.
· Proven record of sales growth
· Independent self-starter with a strong desire to consistently advance the goals of the organization.
· Experience negotiating complex agreements.
· Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines.
· Knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
· Strong project management skills
· Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work effectively with other internal teams.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
· Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull with frequency.
· Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
