Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the successful integration of students with special needs into the classroom.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Provide support and assistance to students in developing social skills and behavior management techniques.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and participation.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Job Qualifications

• State Special Education license / SPEDcertification
• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
• Fingerprint Card
• Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
• Must undergo Background and Drug Screening
