We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer to join our clients dynamic team. In this role, you will analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain software programs based on customer requirements, adhering to development standards and the software development lifecycle process. Your daily tasks will include identifying requirements for digital transformation, planning third-party integrations, developing native code, contributing to build vs. buy decisions, and coding, testing, documenting, and mitigating performance improvements throughout the development lifecycle. You will demonstrate technical expertise, establish repeatable guidelines and scalable standards, and lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet business, technical, and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate trade-offs for buy vs. build decisions related to technical integrations with third parties or expansion of existing code.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions to meet customer requirements, including analysis, documentation, error/exception handling, business process implementation, performance analysis/improvements, and technology research.
• Establish guidelines for estimating and planning software releases and document best practices for sprint/release planning.
• Produce development artifacts for complex applications, create secure and high-quality production code, and maintain algorithms that run simultaneously with appropriate systems.
• Plan and prioritize work sequences and schedules to ensure each release/sprint provides business value.
• Maintain technical skills through hands-on experimentation, independent research, training, and/or conferences.
• Leverage expertise in cloud technologies, microservices, artificial intelligence, and other transformative technologies.
• Collaborate with leadership, product owners, architects, user experience experts, and business liaisons to understand requirements and plan release cycles.
• Proactively identify patterns in data, processes, and system performance to drive improvements in coding hygiene.
• Maintain and enhance existing system design through a strong understanding of architecture and test-driven development skills.
• Research and develop new technologies to enhance current and future design, security, and system performance.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Web Services and SOAP integrations of third-party and remote systems.
• Optimize SQL relational operations including direct query, caching mechanisms, read/write clustering, etc.
• Lead DevOps best practices and provide full-stack design and development expertise.
• Provide expert knowledge of code implementation, system integrations, and upgrades of platform infrastructures.
• Configure and manage Apache Tomcat for hosting Java Web Applications.
• Implement SSL and Encryption methodologies.
• Provide expert analysis and identify trade-offs for new and existing applications.
• Plan work schedules and estimates for project management and resource coordination to ensure each release provides business value.
• Work closely with Infrastructure and Architect teams to develop and enhance cloud-based solutions.
• Manage and document code reviews and establish best practices to mitigate repeat issues.
• Mentor junior-level developers and proactively review the quality, consistency, scalability, and future-proofing of their code.
• Develop documentation standards and perform peer reviews to ensure compliance.
• Resolve team challenges, manage dependencies across other project teams, and maintain customer relationships to ensure transparency and collaboration.
• Negotiate challenging decisions and form a point of view based on personal expertise and architectural ecosystem.
• Supervisory duties may be assigned to oversee junior-level and third-party coding quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent professional technical programming experience.
• Subject Matter Expert experience in web-based IT solutions Java and/or web programming, including JSP, Servlets, JDBC, web services, mobile, Angular, React, React Native, VueJS, JSON, and HTML web development.
• Expertise in relational database design (i.e., Oracle, DB2, etc.), including SQL queries, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, DB2, and application development including APIs, microservices, and modern technology architectures.
• Hands-on developer application server experience, including Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, or equivalent technology.
• Developer experience in AWS, public cloud, Azure, or equivalent.
• Experience with various development life cycles including waterfall, Agile, Rational Unified Process (RUP), etc.
• Object-oriented programming experience.
• Ability to work well in a team with varying levels of technical and non-technical expertise.
• Ability to manage project schedules, sprint planning, and full development life cycle, working closely with project management to coordinate resources and timelines.
• Demonstrated decision-making and communication skills to address customer issues and analyze and clarify new project assignments.
• Technical writing skills, situational awareness, professional customer communication, time management, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to explore emerging technologies and recommend ways to optimize our technical ecosystem.
• Java Developer Certification(s).
• Oracle or DB2 Certification(s).
• Effective communication at all levels of the organizational hierarchy.
• User Interface (UI) development experience.
• Mobile responsive web design expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of OWASP and familiarity with web application vulnerabilities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline configurations and management.
• Working knowledge of source control software (SVN or Git), build and deployment tools (Maven, Jenkins, Gradle).
• Sharp troubleshooting skills and real-world systems deployment experience.
