Laboratory Assistant 1 Job Details

Duties:
Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Records observations and measurements and reports results. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Experienced in optimizing the manufacturing and logistics infrastructure and coordinating para-professionals providing entry-level support. Supervises and coordinates the manufacturing of active ingredients and intermediates into raw materials, including guiding and assisting more junior employees. Operates and troubleshoots escalated issues for various formulating equipment. Performs routine and non-routine operations safely and efficiently. Executes all phases of crop protection or seed production for small-seeded vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and squash to ensure a high quality, reliable, and timely supply is delivered to the facility. Coordinates third-party cleaning vendors, off-site inventory management, and communication of scheduling, priorities, and shipping needs between stakeholders, and works with specialists to test/implement new production concepts. Provides logistics and order management support to clients, including order management & distribution-related transactions, and recommends modifications to processes to ensure optimization. Strives to optimize the manufacturing and logistics infrastructure through lean methodologies and other strategies. Communicates with internal colleagues within manufacturing plants, transportation, and storage.
