Prodigy Resources is Hiring a Business Operations Specialist Near Denver, CO

Prodigy Resources is a boutique IT recruiting firm based in Denver, CO. We are a close knit and highly passionate team that is currently looking for an organized, highly motivated, and business-minded individual to support business operations. It’s an exciting time at Prodigy. We work within a fast paced and evolving environment where customer service, an attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and wear multiple hats are key attributes to being successful.

Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, the Accounting & Finance Specialist will play a crucial role in driving the financial success and operational efficiency of Prodigy Resources. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the oversight and coordination of all accounting functions, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. Additionally, the Accounting & FInance Specialist will assist in managing HR operations, ensuring seamless integration of financial and human resources activities. A great fit for this role will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to be resourceful and learn quickly.

Job Duties:

  • Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement.
  • Interpret financial data to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators.
  • Resolve any discrepancies in accounting data, as identified.
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Ensure that all accounting activities, records, and entries are accurate.
  • Work closely with our CPA firm on the planning, completion, and filing of required reports.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains and updates systems as necessary to improve their operational effectiveness.
  • Manages our shared Google Drive to ensure its organized and company documents are updated with the latest versions.
  • Communicates with both our internal teams as well as external contract employees and clients to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Performs basic reporting within our CRM and other software to help facilitate employee performance management.
  • Runs weekly, quarterly, and yearly reports based on company KPIs as needed.
  • Performs general office and project management tasks to ensure we stay organized and on track in meeting our deliverables and growth goals.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferably within a business related field such as Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel (functions, filtering, writing basic formulas, Pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Computer Savvy with an aptitude for learning new software programs quickly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize work to meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Willingness to ask questions to ensure best practices are followed and things are done right.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to proactively take initiative to streamline processes.
