Required Skills:

We are seeking a Delivery Manager to assist with a large, multi-year Modernization effort to decouple our experiences from back end record keeping system. Decoupling experiences realizes business, financial, and technology value in Principal’s modernization journey across the enterprise – from enhancing UI experiences to backend modernization.

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) and 4-6 years work experience or equivalent experience.

4-6 years of Agile team experience in any well-known software environment preferred.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints.

Ability to interface with executives and stakeholders regarding issues of project scope and status.

Knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred.

Advanced planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required.

Basic leadership and presentations skills required.

Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Some travel required, including overnight stays.

Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners.

Responsibilities:

Focus on learning existing tools, resources and processes. With guidance, develop productivity skills. Seek to find ways to improve the overall delivery system through optimizing interactions and reducing hand-offs. Manage (as opposed to improve) constraints as the primary tool to ease problems on the team. Can help the team visualize superficial constraints impacting the team and takes action to rally the team to improve. Assist in defining the holistic product life-cycle, delivery cadence, release plan and sprint schedule.

• Collaborate with leaders to create and maintain overall initiative plans and road maps

• Using dashboards and other monitoring tools to check for progress and any areas that need attention, discussion, etc.

• Attending planning and other scrum ceremonies to manage and provide guidance around vision, direction, removing obstacles, raising issues, etc.

• Attending (and potentially facilitating) Program Increment Planning meetings to ensure all dependencies are identified and that the 3-month commitment is sound

• Identify when additional discussions are needed with other tech or business resources and schedule meetings to address; facilitate discussions (or coach engineers) to get to action items and next steps

• Talking to engineers and IT leaders to understand how to best break work down for planning, execution, and reporting

• Attending leader meetings; preparing and presenting reports on status, progress, changes, outcomes, etc.

• Reviewing overall initiative plans and roadmaps to ensure understanding, identify overlaps and/or opportunities for synergy, and that teams are best organized to achieve objectives

• Reviewing documentation, Jira coding, and other artifacts to ensure accuracy; making changes where needed

• Supporting cross team/squad meetings to ensure all the right discussions are taking place
