Sr. Product Manager
Duration: 2 year contract
Location: Des Moines, IA (Hybrid - 3 days a week)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
My area is starting a 2 year project to outsource a handful of our communication capabilities to a third party, Broadridge. Capabilities in my area include: outbound print and e-delivery, document composition, and all inbound capabilities (scanning, indexing, data extraction, deposits, return mail) . This position I’m hiring for is to replace a product manager in my inbound space. There is a lot of process understanding needed. We have a lot of different processes for how we handle our incoming work and we need to figure out how to move a majority of this work to our third-party vendor for them to handle the scanning, indexing, OCR to then feed into our business areas. This role will need to learn the processes, will be a liaison between our business units and our new vendor. I need someone to be on my product team, but this role will need Project management and Business analyst skills as well to be successful.
Product Strategy and Discovery
Develops understanding of product strategy in context of the enterprise and business strategies.
Responsible for executing against the strategy as part of a product team(s)
Accountable for understanding and defining key business outcomes and requirements for their product.
Product Delivery
Is accountable for success of product delivery in collaboration with technology and non-technology partners.
In partnership with other members of a team, work to remove impediments and manage dependencies that the team may face in the pursuit of value creation.
Ensures the product team has the business, customer, user, and stakeholder context required to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
Collaborates with team to break down work in a manner which frequently releases valuable product changes.
Typically plays the role of product owner for SCRUM teams, collaborating on story creation and refinement, definition and success criteria, prioritization, and accepts work as done.
Participate in team/agile ceremonies (effective structure & routines).
Partner with team members to deliver value with quality.
Communicates product releases to stakeholders & partners.
Product Assessment
Consults with Product Manager or Sr. Product Manager to ensure every goal-aligned unit of value created by the team(s) is measurable and can show progress towards product goals. Stakeholder management
Communicates discovery and delivery priorities, results of experiments, quantifiable progress to goals, and delivery health of their product with stakeholders.
Communicates effectively as part of the product management team supporting a broader product family or portfolio.
Identifies opportunities to improve the product management practice within their sphere of responsibility; and works as part of the product management team to continuously improve.
