Senior Clinic Manager

Our client is one of the largest and most respected retina-only ophthalmology practices in the United States, dedicated to preserving vision for patients throughout the state. They are searching for a Senior Clinic Manager. This individual will be responsible for the efficiency and success of daily clinical operations related to patient-centric experience. The Senior Clinic Manager will assist the Regional Clinic Manager (RCM) and Director of Operations with a cohesive workflow between the clinic manager, clinical team dedicated assistants, and physicians. The incumbent will travel to various clinics, communicate effectively, and be highly organized to work in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate must be able to travel to multiple clinics to meet the needs of the patients and providers and support the clinic's variable hours (Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 6:30 pm). Schedules are provided weekly and are based on the physician's clinic, patient, and surgery schedules. Clinic staff are also provided the opportunity for weekend hours if available. 

Responsibilities

· Performs expected Clinic Manager duties and responsibilities at a leadership clinical level.

· Identifies and delivers educational growth and cross-training opportunities for team members.

· Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, disciplinary action, and performance reviews of employees.

· Ensures direct hire and temporary/contract employees are appropriately interviewed, and complete necessary checklist per job description. 

· Partners with the Clinic Training Coordinator to develop and maintain a training program for clinical staff.

· Reviews clinic staff schedules under clinic needs; approves time off requests for clinic staff as delegated.

· Organizes and conducts regular meetings for clinic staff.

· Participates in regularly scheduled management team meetings.

· Consult with the Director of Clinical Operations, Human Resources, or Regional Clinic Manager regarding employee relations and interpretation of policies for a resolution.

· Provides Clinic Managers with HR training by utilizing SHRM and Learn Modules

· Assists with the training and development of Clinic Managers (CM), and new hire CMs, and developing future CMs.

· Assists with the training and development classes for Scribes, Tech, Photographers, and other positions as needed.

· Assists with the training of team members focusing on Customer Service and Customer Recovery

· Audits facilities as needed to ensure best practices and processes are being utilized.

· Performs on-call duties and responsibilities on a rotating basis as needed, along with training new staff for on-call.

· Performs other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications

· Working knowledge of all aspects of retina ophthalmic care.

· Understanding and working knowledge of employee management and people leadership

· Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Practice Management platforms, preferably NexTech, Phreesia, NextGen.

· Understanding of ICD-10 and coding

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, detail-oriented, and organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task, work well in a team dynamic as well as independently

· Demonstrated skills in motivating and training professional staff.

· Strong organization with attention to detail.

· Bachelor’s Degree

· High School diploma required.

· Certified as an ophthalmic assistant (COA) required.

· Five to seven years’ experience in retina clinical operations.

· 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
