North American Renewables, Inc., is seeking a Project Civil Engineer. We are looking for a self-starter who is an expert in the standards and practices Civil Engineer for ground mount renewables projects and can work with both internal and external partners to design, review, and provide guidance on Civil Engineering issues. Career Duties & Responsibilities Job Specific Responsibilities : Review of development packages provided by clients for design issues, value engineering opportunities, and coordination of requirements on the civil engineering and permitting packages. Develop bid and construction level civil engineering plans including erosion control, grading, and storm water management design. Review of civil engineering submittals and RFIs during construction. Creation of truck turning models. Coordination with design engineers for other disciplines to ensure a cohesive plan package for bidding and construction. Hydrology analysis and storm water management calculation. Assist in developing standards for layout and design of the civil portions of the project construction, inspections, and construction administration. Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering design and documentation standards. Review and comment on plans and documents provided by external civil engineers to ensure quality and value engineering of the designs prior to bidding/construction. Review contract documents to ensure that the client requested scope is achievable and provide guidance to the contracts team on required scope and potential issues. Coordinate with clients on technical contractual items as needed as a subject matter expert. Conduct site visits to document site conditions not anticipated on the plan sets, including preconstruction meetings and site meetings on active projects to facilitate responses to questions from the field. Work closely with project management and external engineers through construction to ensure timely responses to questions from the field and external engineering teams. Coordinate survey work when required for documentation of conditions on site. Assistance with permitting exercises and work with AHJs as needed throughout the EPC process to ensure a smooth building permit approval into construction, and closeout of permit documents at project completion.
