**Job Overview:**

As a Caregiver at Professional Habilitation Services, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities. You will be responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment. The univeral worker must be a versatile person who will be trained with all clients, encompassing a variety of intellectual and physicial disabilities. The candidate must be flexible and willing to move to different clients and locations as needed. Travel time and mileage will be paid for any travel during the shift.

**Responsibilities:**

- Administer medications to clients following prescribed schedules and dosage instructions.

- Advocate for and uphold resident rights, ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions.

- Provide specialized care for individuals with disabilities, implementing appropriate strategies for their unique needs.

- Offer direct support to clients in various tasks such as personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance.

- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to enhance the overall well-being of clients.

- Engage in care activities including companionship, recreational outings, and cognitive stimulation.

- Assist with lifting and transferring clients safely as needed.

- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.

- Support residents in an assisted living setting, promoting independence while ensuring safety.

- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering their growth and independence.

**Qualifications:**

- Prior experience in medication administration is preferred.

- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles is beneficial.

- Experience in caregiving or related training is a plus.

- Proficiency in providing direct support to individuals with diverse needs.

- Familiarity with social work practices and protocols is advantageous.

- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility challenges.

- Competence in meal preparation following dietary guidelines.

- Understanding of working with people with developmental disabilities is a strong asset.
