Farm Manager/ Idaho - Potatoes

Have you grown potatoes? Can you manage 5000 acres? Do you know row crops? Irrigation?

Ready to join a long time family operation with 35,000 acres throughout several counties in Idaho, and grow potatoes, sugar beets, watermelon, hay, corn, pumpkins and squash?

Ready to take responsibility for crops, people, revenues in a diverse row crop farm?

Responsibilities- Report to General Manager.

Assist in the development of annual field, crop, and unit input budgets. Strong computer skills.

- Manage crop production for best possible yield and quality. Includes: alfalfa, beans, beets, potatoes, and corn.

- Manage, maintain, and improve the lands farmed for the greatest possible productivity and sustainable husbandry.

- Manage and work with the Irrigation Foreman to ensure that the irrigators and irrigation systems are providing timely and even applications of water to the crops.

- Help formulate pre-season plans for all activities and applications for each individual field.

- Continually evaluate yield, quality, and production costs for efficiencies and improvements that will maximize crop revenues.

- Assist in recruiting talented personnel to accomplish company and unit goals.

- Supervise and be accountable for the planting of each crop in each field.

- Spanish speaking a plus. Base, benefits, vehicle, relocation assistance.
