Business Analyst – General Insurance

• Startup Insurance company taking on the Australian market
• Must have General Insurance experience
• Fixed-term contract Opportunity - initial 6 months with chance of extension

Global reinsurance and insurance provider looking to hire there first Business Analyst within the Australasian business. Be a part of shaping and identifying opportunities for improvement, streamlining processes, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. You will work closely with stakeholders from different departments to gather requirements, analyse data, and propose solutions that align with the company's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. You will also be exposed to/have an opportunity to manage small projects or roll out enhancements.

Role Overview:

• Work with several stakeholders to elicit, capture and document requirements and write high-quality user stories and functional and non-functional requirements
• Map current and future business processes
• Analyse database queries and data flows
• Identify, verify and address gaps in information provided by stakeholders
• Review design and testing deliverables to ensure completeness of requirements
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
• Analyse datasets related to insurance claims, policies, underwriting, and other operational areas to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external vendor relationships
• Monitor project progress and set deadlines
• Provide training support to end users.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements in the insurance industry and ensure that operational processes and systems comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, preferably with a focus on general insurance operations
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment and the hunger to be a part of a quickly changing environment
• Solid understanding of general insurance products, processes, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication and proven experience dealing with multiple stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interact with a diverse group, of executives, managers and subject matter experts
• Jira/Confluence proficient Microsoft suite experience
• Experience with insurance software systems (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management systems) is a plus
• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is highly desirable
