Salary: $22 Per Hour

Project FIND’s mission is to provide low- and moderate-income and homeless seniors with the services and support they need to enrich their lives and live independently. Today Project FIND operates three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people and four senior centers with over 3,000 members. Our members and residents range from the healthy and active to the frail and homebound to the homeless. For all these individuals, Project FIND is a critical resource, providing housing, meals, and programs that help individuals navigate the challenges of aging by encouraging community engagement and healthy living.

Job Summary:

The Front Desk Monitor (FDM) plays a critical role in the housing program as this position is the first point of contact for both clients, visitors, and vendors. They help coordinate non-clinical needs of clients by managing the front desk and assists clients and vendors with daily requests and needs. They also control the front door and alert staff to crises situations as they occur. It is expected that the FDM provides excellent customer service at all times. This position also conducts regular tours of the building, monitors activities of the lobby area and completes incident reports, as appropriate.

General Responsibilities:

  • Greets all visitors entering the facility by announcing their arrival to staff and clients.
  • Ensures all visitors sign in and out as required.
  • Route mail and deliveries as needed.
  • Prepares logs and reports related to front desk events.
  • Observes and reports incidents, concerning activities, and high-risk situations to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor’s entrance and exit points managing clients, visitors, contractors, and employees.
  • Makes periodic rounds of the building and documents any hazardous conditions or issues.
  • Follows assigned procedures in emergency situations.
  • Handles or assists in crises situations.
  • Completes Incident Reports in AWARDS

Qualifications:

  • Current NY State Security Guard License and F89/T89 certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for numerous hours.
  • Has an understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Project FIND.
  • Establish and maintain polite, professional, and effective working relationships with all contacts.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Shows initiative and is responsible for follow through.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information, as related to the position.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Basic level computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated flexibility with the ability to change priorities with limited notice including working overtime and being available to work with little notice.
  • Ability to lift packages and other items up to 10 pounds.

Schedule:

There are 3 shifts a part-time Front Desk Monitor can cover. Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm, Saturday & Sunday 4pm-12am, Saturday & Sunday 12am-8am (16 Hours Per week). Please note this position requires the availability and flexibility to occasionally work some weekends and holidays.

Project FIND participates in E-Verify, which confirms employment authorization through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. The E-Verify process is completed in conjunction with the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates.
