PositionDescription :

Summary :

• Assist plantsuperintendent by assuring that the assigned production departmentis operated in the most profitable and efficient way through properutilization of assigned manpower materials equipment andspace.
• The position is responsible fororganizing all assigned resources to produce products according tothe current schedule and according to the approved qualitystandard.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities :

• Supervise production team members performing productionoperations and must have thorough knowledge regarding the teammember handbook safety manual all rules programs and proceduresthat pertain to production team members.
• Responsible for orientation and on the job training ofteam members in the safe efficient operation ofequipment.
• Instills good housekeeping of theirimmediate work area in all employees so that visitors may bereceived in the plant at any time.

Evaluate team members based onattendance performance attitude potential etc.

• Responsible for maintaining manpower within the assigneddepartment at authorized levels.
• Reassignsteam members on down equipment to eliminate unfavorable laborvariances.
• Observes production operationwithin their area of control to ascertain compliance with methodsquality standards safety regulations production standards andefficient operation of equipment : takes corrective action toeliminate any deviation.
• Continuously analyzesthe assigned area of responsibility for improved methods ofproduction tool design communication and reporting cost controlsand makes recommendations to plant superintendent fordisposition.
• Consults with team membersregarding onthejob problems to include low production poor qualitypoor attendance tardiness etc.
• Documents anyand all problems and provides action plans to plant superintendentfor disposition.
• In case of emergency directteam member to their assigned safe area.
• Process all required forms in a timely manner for payrolland Human Resources (i.e. employee status form timecards PTO sheetsEIRP reward etc.).
• Contact Engineering andMaintenance for required repair work.
• With thePlant Manager and Operation Manager study operation where coststandards are not being met to determine causes and applycorrective action.
• Assist assigned teammembers in understanding the need for teamwork to attaindepartmental and objectives.
• Support and carryout corporate philosophy and vision.
• Attendsafety and quality meetings when needed.
• Actively participate in Health / Safety / Environmentalinvestigations and the 8D process in order to develop root causeanalysis for problem resolution.
• Ensurerequired Safety Audits are complete for you and yourteam.
• Reporting accidents occupationalillnesses and HSE&E emergencies and inform supervisor of knownHSE&E conditions which could adversely effect other teammembers assets or to the public.
• Ensurecompliance with all safety procedures and ensure safe workingprocedures in assigned production areas.
• Mustbe able to evaluate color.

Just In Time (JIT) plant. Candidate does notneed JIT experience but must have 23 years experience in AutomotiveManufacturing.

RequiredExperience :

• 23 yrs. Automotivemanufacturing experience in a supervisory position managing a largeteam.
• Experienced in professional developmentfor staff / workers ability to set individual goals using KPIs and 5S methodology.
• Experience and trained ininterpersonal conflict resolution experience.
• Strong ability using ADP / Kronos and MicrosoftOffice

EMS Job Responsibilities :

Will follow and promote environmentalmanagement system compliance and commitment to resourceconservation.

EHS Job Responsibilities :

• Documentation of injury reports.
• Complete statements as needed. Participation with theAccident Investigation team.
• Conduct safetyaudits weekly and monthly.
• Ensure safetystandards are met.
• Have safety auditscompleted on a timely basis.
• Complete safetyrelated work orders.
• Participate in safetycommunications weekly / monthly events such as plant wide meetingpreshift meeting department meetings and trainingexercises.
• Any miscellaneous duties asassigned by Dept. Mgr.

Qualification Requirements :

• To perform this job successfully an individualmust be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily.

Language Skills :

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules blueprints and procedure manuals.

• Ability to add subtracts multiply and dividein all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions anddecimals.
• Candidate has the ability to computerate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bargraphs.

Reasoning Ability :

Candidate has the ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oralor diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities :

• Must be computer literate and familiar withappropriate software programs.
• Candidate hasthe ability to create visual aids for communicationpurposes.
• Duties also include assisting in thedaytoday management of the Environmental ManagementSystem.
• Following all environmental workinstruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required ofthe Environmental 1st Response Team.
