Proof of the Pudding is Hiring a Concessions Operations - Mississippi State University Near State University, MS

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.
We are seeking Concessions Operations Workers for Mississippi State University (MSU) located in Starkville, MS to assist with concessions operations of Davis Wade Stadium (Football), Dudy Noble Field (Baseball), Humphrey Coliseum (Basketball), and other sporting/pop events throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be available for games, has experience in food service operations, and enjoys a position always on the move.
Mississippi State University is a large campus in the heart of Mississippi where the Bulldogs reign supreme. Football games bring in 65,000 adoring fans while baseball games bring in 16,000 fans to cheer on their College World Series Champs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Receiving product and equipment using a forklift, pallet jack, golf cart, or box truck.
  • Restocking concession stands from the warehouse using FIFO.
  • Stocking concessions, bars, popup location, and suites throughout the event venue with equipment and food & beverage products according to pull-sheets or direction from management
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Plug-and-play electrical and propane equipment.
  • Assists in all gameday operations as business needs dictate.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and upbeat manner.
  • Ensuring hot and cold food is delivered in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with disassembly and event breakdown: end of event inventory, warehouse stocking, and organization of equipment and leftover food products.
  • Work efficiently and independently to complete assigned tasks
  • Cleaning and sanitizing food contact surfaces such as dishes, small wares, and food prep surfaces.
  • Punctual and consistent work ethic.
Education And/or ExperiencePerforms other related duties as required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year experience in a food service role emphasizing operations or logistics, experience in high volume of stadium food & beverage preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or is available to receive training.
Specialized Qualifications
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Comfortable receiving on-the-job training to perform their responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills with both team members and guests.
  • Ability to use machinery or work with another team member to move heavy equipment.
  • A good memory and ability to problem solve effectively.
  • Availability to work all home football games.
Work Environment The work environment for this position will be event operations and working out of the Football Stadium or similar venues. This position will often walk throughout campus and stadium grounds on different terrains.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of moving through an event space, and traversing throughout the stadium
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds at times.
