Description
Gas South District Convention Center hosts a mixture of events, concessions, and premium catered hospitality events, the Convention Center Food Hall Manager will office from Gas South Conc. Ctr., supporting the F&B team with a focus on the Food Hall operations.
We are seeking an experienced and diligent Concessions Supervisor to help lead the concessions program. The Conventions Center Food Hall Supervisor will be the point person in all concession's aspects. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, physical demands, and work environment associated with this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle all aspects of 3rd party vendors including but not limited to, communications, assisting with set up, stocking, inventory, and operations. This position will be a main point of contact for vendors on event days.
  • Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitor water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
  • Merchandise and serve food and beverage according to established guidelines and replenish as needed.
  • Clean equipment, utensils and appliances and properly store food and beverage supplies; ensure compliance with sanitation and safety procedures and regulations; clean refrigerators and storerooms as required.
  • Assist in storing unused food and supplies; disposing of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
  • Assist with inventory and maintain routine records as directed; prepare records of food and beverage Be clean, neat, and professionally dressed at all times.
  • Train and oversee workers to ensure daily success of the food stand.
  • Operate and oversee the POS program/cashiers and troubleshoot as needed.
Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience :
  • Experience with food & beverage is strongly preferred, roles in fast casual dining, concessions supervisor, high volume food prep positions will translate well to this role.
  • High school diploma of GED
  • ServSafe Certified preferred.

  • Flexibility and a positive attitude

  • Knowledge of best food safety practices
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work Environment
This position work mostly out of and mainly stay within the Gas South District Convention Center but may travel to other venues within the Gas South Region. This role requires some physical work with an emphasis on organization, event set up, and conducting inventory in a fast-paced work environment. This position will be moving in and out of structures and carrying items across miscellaneous terrains.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces.
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items across uneven ground
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
