Description
Gas South Region consists of six venues in and around Gwinnett County; Gas South District Center, Gas South Arena, Buford Community Center, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, and University of Georgia. With a mixture of events, concessions, and premium hospitality throughout the region, the Executive Sous Chef will support all locations, but their main focus is leading the culinary programs at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Gas South Arena, and UGA.
We are seeking a seasoned Executive Sous Chef to provide strong leadership at multiple venues with the ability of effectively coordinating every aspect of food production while consistently procuring a high level of quality and service in both front and back of the house. The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef, Regional Executive Chef and kitchen team to execute events.
Responsibilities:
  • Be a culinary lead for Gas South Region scheduled events - with a specific ownership to Road Atlanta, University of Georgia, and Gas South Arena events.
  • Execution of events and food service while maintaining the highest level of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Assist in the training, mentoring, and hiring of kitchen staff and help develop staff to reach full potential.
  • Capable of producing a consistent product in a high-volume environment.
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen/food service areas.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of creative menu items that adhere to Proof of the Pudding standards.
  • Creating and maintaining the overall morale of the kitchen and culinary team.
  • Schedules Staff and food production in accordance with the demands of business, the direction of Regional Executive Chef and Company policies.
  • Assist Executive Chef with logistical planning and execution of events as directed.
  • Assist with ordering, budget preparation, inventory control, menu development, financial reports, and scheduling
Performs other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 3 years in a leadership culinary role
  • Large scale catering experience is necessary, Sports & Entertainment catering experience is preferred.
  • Must have impeccable integrity for the business, the community and our Proof of the Pudding Team
  • Possess the necessary qualities of self- motivation, desire to learn, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment
  • Proven leadership skills and the motivation to step up and run the kitchen when the Executive Chef is not onsite
Specialized Qualifications:
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to run a business as if you own it
  • Exhibit cooking skills, knowledge, and food handling skills consistent with contemporary training and have the desire to learn more

Work Environment
This position will work out of the Gas South District Convention Center, but can travel to other venues within the Gas South District. The Executive Sous Chef will be in and out of kitchens and event venues with shifts having long periods of standing and moving equipment and/or food product.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving throughout a kitchen and venue, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
Position Salary & Benefits:
  • This is considered a full-time salary role.
