Proof of the Pudding is Hiring a Premium Food & Beverage Operations - Mississippi State University Near State University, MS

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.
We are currently seeking Premium Food & Beverage Operations Staff for Mississippi State University (MSU), located in Starkville, MS to provide strong operations support for all premium hospitality areas, at Davis Wade Stadium (Football) and other athletic events.
Mississippi State University is a large campus in the heart of Mississippi where the Bulldogs reign supreme. Football games bring in 65,000 fans and their new, top of the line baseball facility houses the 2021 College World Series Champions.
This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic/catered events.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Transfers products, merchandise, and food to and from various premium areas including kitchens, clubs, and suites.
  • Ensuring all items, including hot and cold food, are delivered on-time, and in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Stocking suites and clubs throughout the venues with equipment, food and beverage products according to pull-sheets or direction from management.
  • May act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.
  • Responsible for receiving products and merchandise, checking for quality and damages to items, and storing delivered products and merchandise.
  • Assist the staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks which may include operating equipment such as pallet jacks or forklift.
  • Assist with assembly and event breakdown, including transporting dishes, utensils, end of event inventory, warehouse stocking, and organization of equipment and leftover food products.
  • Assists in all gameday operations as business needs dictate.
  • Work efficiently and independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Punctual and consistent work ethic.
Education And/or ExperiencePerforms other related duties, as required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year experience in a food service role emphasizing operations or logistics, experience in high volume of stadium food & beverage preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or is available to receive training.

  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Comfortable receiving on-the-job training to perform their responsibilities and adapt quickly to situations.
  • Effective listening and communication skills with both team members and guests.
  • Ability to use machinery or work with another team member to move heavy equipment.
  • A good memory and ability to problem solve effectively.
  • The ability to work alone and as a team.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
Work EnvironmentThis position will often move throughout campus and stadium grounds, in and out of suites, clubs and walkaways on different terrains. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Uniform RequirementsAll employees will be required to dress in the following:
  • Your choice of black slacks
  • No denim allowed on site.
  • No Shorts
  • No yoga pants, leggings, or workout/athletic shorts or pants are to be worn for any event.
  • Black closed-toe non-slip shoes
  • Black, white, or grey socks.
  • No patterned or bright colored socks
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of moving throughout campus, stadiums, and venues in different terrains.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting up-to 50 pounds.
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
