Property Management is Hiring an Apartment Leasing Agent Near Port Huron, MI

We are hiring an experienced apartment leasing agent/office worker at our Fort Gratiot apartment complex! Hours are 9-3 Monday - Friday (This can change slightly according to vacancy).

From discovering the prospective residents needs and matching them with the perfect apartment, to nurturing the resident experience while supporting the property's needs; our Leasing Agents are critical to building our apartment communities. Every day is an opportunity to meet new people and turn them into a loyal tenant.

We are a family owned and operated business looking for an experienced apartment leasing agent to join our team. The ideal candidate must be friendly, professional, organized, have the ability to manage and complete various tasks, and work well within a team. We have properties in Macomb and St. Clair County. All of our complexes are established, well run, market rent properties with great people!

What you can expect to do in this role:

  • You will be the first point of contact with prospective residents, current residents, and vendors.
  • Show the apartments, sell the property's features, and qualify prospective residents.
  • Manage the leasing, closing and move in process with our new residents.
  • Be aware of what needs to be done in vacant apartments to get them ready to rent, know what tasks maintenance personnel are working on, and help keep maintenance on track so the apartments are ready to rent in a timely manner.
  • Initial questions most likely come through you first. You must be quick to determine the resident's needs, resolve and/or escalate to a higher level as permitted.
  • Fostering new relationships with our residents is vital to the success of this position.
  • We look to you to use your friendly personality as well as your ability to diffuse/resolve difficult situations while nurturing relationships.
  • Using your strong administrative and computer skills: this position will manage various tasks, such as collecting and logging rents, managing lease files, updating and organizing necessary paperwork and computer files, completing marketing/advertising tasks, updating advertising sites, etc.

  • Prior leasing experience is helpful.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and good follow through.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Superior ability to help our customers and resolve any issues with professionalism and clear communication.
  • Strong typing and computer skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Your ability to manage several tasks at once while remaining detailed and well organized.
  • Good follow through is necessary so our residents feel their needs are recognized and met.
  • Strong adherence to ethical standards including, but not limited to, the ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain fiduciary responsibility.

What is required:

  • Apartment Leasing experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Your own personal, reliable, transportation
  • Pass a criminal background check

Compensation is very competitive and based on experience
