Job SummaryThe Director, Data and Analytics position is responsible for guiding the Company’s data and analytics vision as well as leading the technical team responsible for building the framework to make this possible. This role will be responsible for overseeing the data strategy, enabling data-centric business capabilities, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position will collaborate with various departments to identify business needs, develop analytical frameworks, and provide actionable insights that support the company’s goals. This role will also lead the development and support of several in-house developed applications built on top of the enterprise data assets.
Essential Functions

• Establish the Company’s data and analytics vision.
• Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, software developers, devops engineers, and analytic engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the data and analytics team.
• Implement operational capabilities for data, analytics, and AI solutions to guarantee SLA’s and scalability.
• Build an implement / operate cost model for the business to provide transparency into the underlying costs for the solutions they request from IT.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business objectives.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytic solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data, analytics, and AI.
• Experience in AWS cloud data and analytics capabilities.
• Experience implementing DevOps and MLOps operational capabilities to operationalize data, analytics, and AI solutions.
• Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and provide analytic support.
• Communicate complex data concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical business stakeholders.
• Conduct research and case studies on leading edge technologies and make determinations on the probability of implementation.
• Act as a good steward of Company resources and ensure control of IT departmental budgets.
• Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
• Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
• Provide leadership to others in a fashion that supports the Company’s culture, mission, and values.
• Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills And Abilities

• Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.
• Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
• Strong writing and presentation skills.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
• Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Educational Requirements

• B.S. / B.A.in computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

• 15 years’ professional Information Technology experience.
• 10 years management and strategic experience in Data, Analytics, and DevOps / MLOps.
• Exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations.
