Job SummaryThe Security Administrator role is responsible for managing and monitoring the security systems of our company. This role is required to implement security policies and procedures, monitor network and system security, and evaluate security risk. The Security Administrator analyzes security threats, assesses security vulnerabilities, and recommends security solutions. Focus on cloud security capabilities.
Essential Functions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus solutions.
  • Analyze security threats and assess vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain security reports.
  • Monitor user access activities and enforce access control policies.
  • Respond to incidents and investigate security breaches.
  • Assist with the implementation of new security technologies.
  • Train users on security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure that security standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
  • Evaluate and identify appropriate security solutions that are implemented to protect the company’s services.
  • Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and servers.
  • Develop and establish security policies and approaches for computing and information technology.
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
  • Assess new security technologies to determine potential value for the company.
  • Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements.
  • Establish and implement short – and long-range security goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Provide leadership to others in a fashion that supports the Company’s culture, mission, and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and encryption technologies.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and assessment tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
Educational Requirements
  • B.S. / B.A.in computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in an IT Security role.
  • Experience with network and system security.
  • Experience with the following security technologies: next-gen SIEMs, firewall appliances, intrusion prevention systems, data loss prevention systems (DLP), EDR solutions, log aggregation tools, and investigated incidents and system alerts of heightened complexity.
  • Experienced with threat modeling and security risk assessments.
