Protea Recruitment Ltd | Food | Drinks | FMCG Recruitment Partner is Hiring a Site Engineer Near Edinburgh, IN

Job DescriptionOur client, a market leader in their field is currently recruiting for an Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will perform repairs and maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment based on multiple sites. The engineer will also maintain the facilities and other equipment as required.
It is of paramount importance that the machinery and equipment run reliably, pose no risk to food safety or quality and run in a way that eliminates or minimises any health and safety risks. The Engineering Team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the machinery, facilities, and other equipment.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance of all equipment and machinery.
  • Responding to breakdowns.
  • Diagnosing faults.
  • Repairing equipment
  • Ensuring stock levels for spare parts are kept topped up and replenished when required
  • Ensuring compliance to FSQ and Health & Safety policies
  • Supporting new projects and initiatives as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised Engineering Qualification or completed apprenticeship (ideally electrical bias).
  • Health and safety qualifications or proven experience.
  • Food Safety and Quality Qualification (Desirable)
  • Operational experience, ideally within the food manufacturing industry
  • IT Literate (MS Packages, IT systems).
  • Excellent Attention to detail.
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to cope with changing priorities at sometimes short notice
  • Good communication skills.
