We are currently seeking an Electrical Test Technician (employment options are 6 month to 1 year contract or direct hire) on behalf of our client, a leader in transit in Plattsburgh, NY.
Summary/Objective:
The electrical test technician conducts, tests and completes data collection activities of industrial/utility vehicles, related equipment and component systems.
Essential Functions
· Conducts tests of new components, assemblies and systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
· Perform continuity, voltage, and current checks on train systems wiring
· Upload software in all systems components
· Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor.
· Performs inspections and installation of parts and components on test cars; maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data.
· Builds test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field use conditions.
· Reports to the supervisor about all ongoing projects with regard to project status, completion time projections and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project.
Qualifications
· Associates Degree Electrical required
· Must have experience with high voltage
· Must have experience hipot testing, dynamic testing, continuity testing….
· Minimum 2 years experience electrical testing
· Familiarity with electrical systems
· Ability to read multimeters, O-scopes, electrical schematics, etc.
· Familiarity with transit and transportation realm
***Hotel & Per Diem included for contracted employee
***Relocation option for Direct hire
