Job Title: Controller

Job Overview

As the Controller, your role involves managing all facets of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and adherence to regulations. You will collaborate closely with the executive team to devise and execute financial strategies that align with our growth goals while maintaining robust internal controls and ensuring financial transparency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a dynamic team, ensuring that each job's duties, responsibilities, and authority are clearly defined. 
• Oversee performance, provide coaching and counseling, and facilitate practical management training and development programs.
• Monitor the performance of direct reports, conduct regular performance appraisals, and ensure the effectiveness of an MBO-based performance appraisal system.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Supervise the general ledger and accounting systems, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while keeping financial records precise.
• Direct daily accounting activities, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and cash transactions.
• Compile, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to management and the parent company. 
• Collaborate with external service providers to ensure completion of company audits, tax compliance, insurance coverages, and banking relations.
• Aid in the development of the company’s annual operating and capital budgets.
• Implement and oversee internal control mechanisms to safeguard assets.
• Propose and deploy methods to enhance productivity, increase efficiency, reduce costs, seize opportunities, and update practices.
• Support Marketing in setting and upholding pricing policies for products.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as designated by management.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing internal controls in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Business Central a plus. Ability to learn and use other software tools as required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proven management skills with at least five years in a supervisory capacity.

Education and Experience

• A bachelor's or a degree in accounting or finance is required; a CPA or master's degree is a plus.
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles; prefer manufacturing industry experience.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to travel up to 5%; minimum of 1 time per year.
