Reports To: Controller/CFO

Job Overview

The Staff Accountant will support the Controller/CFO with tasks in several areas of daily financial operations. Responsibilities will primarily include general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining records and files
• Play a key role in the monthly accounting close; recommend improvements in the process
• Prepare and review key account reconciliations
• Prepare year-end audit schedules; collaborate with external auditors
• Assist in compliance and tax filings
• Assist in accounts receivable process, including intercompany with foreign entities 
• Assist with accounts payable process as needed
• Cash flow projections and monitoring
• Other accounting tasks as circumstances require

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of or interest in learning multiple accounting software programs
• Intermediate-level Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Education and Experience

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-2 years of accounting experience with emphasis in general accounting duties

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to travel up to 5%; minimum of 1 time per year
