The Performance Cable Systems and Materials Division has been a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality copper and fiber optic communication cables for over 35 years. Our state-of-the-art facility specializes in the design and construction of advanced communication cables. The PCA™ Category 5e, 6, 6A, and fiber optic cables are engineered to surpass applicable standards and outperform required specifications for applications such as gigabit Ethernet, 10-gigabit Ethernet, VOIP, and POE .

Position Summary

This role is responsible for providing support on all manufacturing operations for Production in order to meet deliverables. This is an integral position within the Production team interfacing and working closely with manufacturing machine operators.

Essential Functions

• Conduct and provide operator training on product processes and procedures
• Create and maintain process sheets to be used for machine setups as well as for optimal running conditions
• Partner with Shift Supervisor and assist with dispositioning non-conforming materials
• Address production problems and provide prompt resolutions
• Enter, edit, and approve print legends
• Monitor inline systems, recognize issues and troubleshoot as necessary
• Enter maintenance requests for machine breakdowns
• Perform quality and safety audits as assigned
• Manage new product development projects on production floor through final reporting
• Adhere to the core PCA goals of ISO9000 Total Quality Management, and be an active participant in group projects
• Subscribe to and practice 5S, JIT, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility This position is not responsible for the oversight or performance management of other employees.

Physical Demands

• Body motor skills sufficient to move for one office location to another throughout plant to access office files, equipment, and plant machinery,
• Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of personal computer, office and machinery equipment
• Sitting for periods of time, working at a desk
• Lifting, carrying of files and supplies, ability to move and lift up to 30 lbs. of objects and/or materials
• Ability to speak and hear to communicate with employees, customers and/or vendors via phone or in person

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience

• 3 years of practical hands-on experience

in a wire and cable manufacturing environment

• Good mathematic skills
• Computer literacy skills utilizing Microsoft Office, with ability to learn customized systems
